News from Volunteers

Our good friend, Nicola Merrigan from New Ross in Wexford and who travelled to Malawi in 2008 to do the IT programme, got married on December 11th.  We wish her well and while we hoped the weather wouldn't put a cold damper on the proceedings (somehow I doubt anything could spoil a Nicola Merrigan party!) they failed to get away on their honeymoon so the party continues! Other good news (and bad for us) is our Office Administrator in Malawi - Thandie Soko - who got married in June is expecting and has decided to resign her position in Blantyre and move to Lilongwe. Her husband, Clement is stationed with the Army in Lilongwe and really they should be together at this exciting time in their lives. We wish both Thandie and Clement every happiness and success in Lilongwe and will miss her very much.

We know of another volunteer who recently got engaged to a chap she met at a Playing for Life fundraising event she organised for her trip to Africa! I'm not sure if it is public news so best not name names just yet. Never let it be said - Love stories begin with Playing for Life!
