Terms and Conditions of Registration

Entry
Entry is by donation as set out on the application form. Playing for Life is a charitable organisation and all monies raised & received will go to Playing for Life. Run to Africa is a registered trade name for Playing for Life.

Run to Africa reserves the right to refuse a participant if, in the opinion of the event organisers, he/she is medically unfit to take part.

Age
All participants must be 16 years of age on race day. 

The Event
Run to Africa reserve the right to change the time, date, venue and/or format of the event and, in extreme circumstances, to cancel the event, in whole or in part, without notice or liability to the participants.  Please check our website regularly for updates.  If a race is cancelled or delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not accept responsibility for any costs incurred by participants.

Steward Instructions
Participants agree to follow instructions given by the event organisers and stewards on the day.

Travel
Each participant is responsible for making their own way to the Event at their own expense.

Insurance
Playing for Life does not provide any insurance, whether life or medical or liability, for any illness, accident, injury, death, loss or damage that may arise in connection with the attendance at, and/or participation in the Event by any participant.  Participants are advised to obtain such insurance themselves, if required. 

Medical Conditions
It is strongly recommended that you train for the run and prepare for the challenge.  If you have not exercised for some time and/or if you are not used to exercise, consult your doctor for a check-up.  If you have a medical condition, please obtain advice from your doctor about whether you should participate in the Run be it as a walker, jogger or runner.

Medical Treatment
Run to Africa shall arrange for the availability of an appropriate number of first aid and medical personnel on the day according to the nature of the event. Each participant hereby authorises such medical personnel to administer first aid treatment or any medical treatment to them or to transport the entrant in the event of any illness, accident or injury suffered by them in connection with his/her participation in the Event. The participant shall be responsible for any medical or transport expenses specifically incurred in connection with any illness, accident or injury sustained in or occurring in connection with their participation in and/or attendance at the Event. 

Safety
No animals are allowed to accompany participants in the run accept Guide Dogs. Participants must wear suitable running or walking shoes. 

Personal Liability
Participants agree that they understand that they enter at their own risk and that neither the organisers nor the sponsors will be held responsible for any accident suffered or injury sustained by them from any cause whatsoever or for any property lost, mislaid or stolen. 

Use of Image
The entrant grants full permission to any of the foregoing to use photographs, films or recordings of this event for any legitimate purpose.  Permission is given by the participant upon registration for the free use of their name, voice or picture in any broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion or other account of the event. 

Privacy Policy

From time to time, Playing for Life provides an electronic newsletter on its activities, as well as opportunities for volunteers to work on its projects in Africa.  If you would like to be included in the distribution list of this newsletter, please indicate by ticking the box provided on the website. 
